Organizer Joe invites you to an evening at Lapis, an acclaimed Afghan-inspired bistro in Adams Morgan that brings soulful flavors and a relaxed, welcoming vibe.

FOOD: Lapis delivers homestyle Afghan flavors with modern polish. Large menu, especially love to see a deep menu for both vegetarians and omnivores.

Guests rave about dishes such as khoresh fesenjoon (walnut-pomegranate braised chicken), the crisp pumpkin bolani flatbread, and the fragrant qabuli palow rice with lamb, raisins & carrots. In fact, Lapis holds a Bib Gourmand from the Michelin Guide in the 2024 edition — a recognition of high quality and good value.

Below the main dining area is the speakeasy-style lounge Lapop, an intimate cocktail bar with a hidden entrance, inventive drinks, and a late-night vibe — a great option to linger after dinner.
