The Writing Group- First Online Writing Session
Details
We are trying out an online session for the first time ever as we take a week off in-person events in preparation of our First Anniversary Reading on the 24th.
We'll run it differently than our in-person events, with a writing period, a discussion, then writing, and then more discussions.
Itinerary
- Our session kicks off at 6 o'clock.
- First fifteen minutes or so, we'll introduce ourselves before diving into a writing session.
- At 7 o'clock, we'll break to discuss our projects and our craft for twenty minutes, before diving back in to another writing sprint.
- At 8 o'clock, we'll do it one more time, ending at 9 o'clock with a wrap-up conversation about what we accomplished and what we hope to accomplish next.
- All kinds of writing are welcome during a session like this, though usually we focus solely on narrative prose (fiction and non-fiction), poetry, and scripts (be they for screen or stage).
Donate to The Writing Group Member Fund for the upcoming Community Spotlight Award! A new grant, funded by member donations to the Writing Group Member Fund, to an individual member of The Writing Group as voted for by the community. The winner will be one whose work has stood out and deserves recognition by their peers, and the grant money is intended (though not required!) to be used for submissions to literary magazines and journals to help the winner progress with their efforts to achieve success in traditional publication. You can donate to the Member Fund here.
The winner will be announced at our upcoming First Anniversary Reading event.
