Nearly half of Tacoma Power’s energy for their customers comes from their own clean, renewable hydropower. As stewards of the river, they are proud to show you these amazing facilities and share with you the work they do daily to balance clean energy and caring for our environment. During this tour, you may have the opportunity to walk on top of dams and through powerhouses, see operating generators, visit fish rearing and passage facilities, and enjoy one of our many lakeside parks.
The tour would consist of walking on gravel, including hills and roads. Access to the top of the dam and outside the powerhouse at the base of the dam.
