What we’re about
Our Group Mission is:
1. Bring together a group of people who love to explore NYC. Our group is dedicated especially to fun activities outside of the typical NY bar scene(which means many times alcohol and a bar might be present, we dont want to totally discriminate, haha). There is so much to do in New York and we plan to bring you best of a variety of events.
2. If we can't host/plan and event, we still want to be your source for great things to do in NYC. We will be sending out a daily email of the Top Things To Do each day(most will be free too!). The email will also be archived on our message board so people can comment and gather there. If we cant host the event ourselves, we still hope members can reach out and get together. ****Please not if you do not wish to receive our daily email, you can adjust your settings so you do not get the email ***
We are all about fun, social, and networking. Events will be in a melting pot of different things, kinda like our great city. Look forward to meeting you!

See all- "Giants": An Afternoon of Art, Food & Flowers in BrooklynThe Norm, Brooklyn, NY

https://www.womenofculture.org/experiences/giantsDescription:
Bring a friend, lover, partner or co-worker and join us on Saturday April 20th for our annual spring “pilgrimage” to the Brooklyn Museum & Botanical Garden, this year featuring a private guided tour of the “Giants” exhibit along with an optional Art-full members (plus 1) brunch at the Norm before hoping to catch the cherry blossoms in full bloom!“Giants” is the first major exhibit of the collection of musical and cultural icons Swizz Beatz (Kasseem Dean) and Alicia Keys, showcasing a selection from the couple’s world-class holdings focused on works by Black diasporic artists.
In the spirit of partnership and collaboration, this event is being guest hosted by artist Cydney Williams and her husband, and all attendees are encouraged to bring a guest (of any gender) who might enjoy learning more about the Deans, their collection, and the artists they support. Buy 1 ticket and get the 2nd one at 20% off!
The exhibit name refers to several aspects of the Dean Collection: the renown of legendary artists, the impact of canon-expanding contemporary artists, and the monumental works by such creators as Derrick Adams, Arthur Jafa, and Meleko Mokgosi. Immense pieces—including the largest ever by Mokgosi—are paired with standouts such as Parks’s seminal photographs, Wiley’s revolutionary portraits, and Esther Mahlangu’s globe-bridging canvases.
Along with examining these links and legacies, the exhibition will encourage “giant conversations” inspired by the works on view—critiquing society and celebrating Blackness. two titans of the music industry have worked together to establish an art collection of gargantuan proportions.
Don’t miss our private, guided tour of this phenomenal exhibit, followed by the option to join for a spring stroll through the Brooklyn Botanic Garden where we hope to catch some of the garden’s gorgeous cherry blossoms in full bloom!*
