What we’re about
## Things Worth Growing – Plants & Peculiars Community
Love rare plants, quirky garden experiments, and friendly folks who’ll swap pest-control secrets? You’re in the right place! Things Worth Growing is a family-run pop-up market and learning hub that transforms Atascadero Lake Park into a mini jungle on the first Sunday of every month (12 pm – 2 pm).
### What We Do
- Plants & Peculiars Sale – Browse (or vend!) carnivorous curiosities, heirloom veggies, funky succulents, giant hand-crafted roses, and more.
- 20-Minute Mini-Class + Hands-On Workshop – Each month we dive into a quick, practical topic (propagation, soil science, organic pest hacks) and send you home with something you made.
- Kid Vendor Program – Young green thumbs get starter kits, mentoring, and a booth spot to sell their own plants—perfect for first-time entrepreneurs.
- Monthly “Plant Lab” Zoom – A casual online chat for nerding out on cultivar performance, yields, and troubleshooting.
- Monthly “Vendor Lab” Zoom – A brainstorming session dedicated to display ideas, marketing tips, and ways to keep the market growing strong.
### Why Join?
- Meet a supportive crew of growers, makers, and curious minds.
- Learn bite-sized, actionable skills—no long lectures, just fun experimentation.
- Give kids a safe, guided space to try business on for size (and earn some pocket money!).
- Shape the future of the market with your ideas and feedback.
Whether you’re propagating your 200th rare philodendron or celebrating your very first sprout, we’d love to have you. Come grow with us!
