"My Body My Choice" - Abortion vs Vaccines

"My Body My Choice" has been used by both sides of the political isle while arguing for different causes. For some it is their right to not be forced or coerced to take a vaccine they do not want, and for others it is their right to not be forced to carry out an unwanted pregnancy.

Covid is mostly past us now and most of the world has returned to sanity (seemingly), and while this is a dated talking point it might be a better time to talk through this idea now that maybe we've cooled down and we're not in the throws of a world gone mad.

Do both conservatives and liberals agree with the general virtue of "My Body My Choice"? Why would they only apply it to one subject and not the other?

From the Pro-Choicer side it could be a matter of wanting to protect *actual* life and not just potential life. For Anti-Vaxxers it could be a matter of valuing bodily autonomy as long as it is not at the expense of killing innocent babies. Both sides will likely disagree with the premises of the other leading to their differences, so it would be important to get to the bottom of these differences and put them both under the microscope and see if real common ground can be found.

Is "My Body My Choice" a convincing talking point for supporting any particular cause that needs to be shouted? Or is it just a way to self-sooth when we've run out of productive stuff to say?

What are your thoughts?
