Community Living - The antidote for our time?

Details

Do today’s typical living forms cover people's needs? Or do they rather fundamentally contribute to the polycrisis of the 21st century?
The most common forms of living in the west are single-homes and patriarchal nucleus families. At the same time global evidence shows that human needs are universal and revolve around connection, healthy food, natural movement and purpose. All of which are not fostered or even hindered by the current societal and economical structures.

Are you motivated, or are you looking for inspiration to make a change in your way of living? Are you looking for a home that fulfills your true needs and gives you meaning? Different offers of Community Living already exist but are often not known or stigmatized by old patterns.
We will present three different existing Community Living concepts and explore together what might be the next steps for each of us.

PRESENTERs:
Theo lives in Karthago, a little-known community in Zurich City, where 50 people form a big household. Theo serves on the board to develop the proven concept further in a changing world. After exploring the depths of the private and public sector, he believes that strengthening the community sector is essential to soften societal and environmental collapse.

Tobias lives in Jupiterhaus, a community of 17 people living together in one big house at the edge of Zurich city. Our guiding principle: Together we explore how to live together in a mindful, authentic and loving way. With grounded spiritual awareness, we work for a regenerative, new world, inviting joy in the process.

Martin is the co-founder of Genossenschaft Freudenau, he is developing a mixed-use project with the aim of creating a model for regenerative placemaking in Lichtensteig. He is also heading the Impact Lab, which is part of the project and funded by the foundation, which supports the project.
