Hello Tampa Thinkers!
Next Sunday's in-person event will be in [Dunedin] at Casa Tina, a restaurant that serves fresh, healthy and authentic Mexican food... and drinks! I chose this place because it aligns nicely with our topic and we'll get to see some of the things depicted in the video.
The Day of the Dead is a 2-day holiday traditionally observed in Mexico and celebrated on Nov. 1st and 2nd, although Oct. 31st is sometimes included. Every year, family and friends gather to pay respects and to remember friends and family members who have died.
The tradition is to build private altars containing the favorite foods and beverages (“ofrendas”) of the departed, as well as photos and memorabilia of them. Traditional dishes are also cooked and the living eat, drink, listen to music, decorate the graves of their departed and pray.
Here's the suggested video for our topic (~5 min video):

- Do you think that accepting our own death helps us enjoy life more?
- What colors and/or images do you associate with death and why?
- Why do you think that flowers are so commonly included in death ceremonies around the world?
- What tradition(s) do you, your family or your culture have to remember friends and family members who have died?
Let's do some Thinking (While Drinking) about this topic!
