Welcome!

You are here for a reason.

Maybe you are tired of feeling invisible in a city that never sleeps.

Maybe you are exhausted by networking events that leave you more alone than when you arrived.

Maybe you just want to sit at a table where no one is performing.

This is that table.

Have you ever felt any of these?

๐ŸŒƒ You walk through the city โ€” bursting with people โ€” and somehow feel completely alone.
๐Ÿค” You watch others. They seem to know things you do not. Rules you never learned. Shortcuts you never found.
โค๏ธ You miss friendships that did not need explaining. The ones from home.
๐ŸŽฏ And underneath it all, a quieter question you do not always say out loud: Why am I really here?

That feeling is not a flaw in you. That feeling is why this table exists.

What makes this different?

Most events for international students and young professionals fall into one of two traps:

๐ŸŽค The Lecture โ€” Someone on stage tells you "5 steps to success." You forget it all by the time you reach the car.
๐Ÿท๏ธ The Networking Pit โ€” Name tags. Awkward small talk. Business cards you will never look at again.

You leave exhausted and somehow more alone.

This event is neither of those things.

No stage. No expert. No forced handshakes.

Instead, there is one question:

"What did you learn through your lived experiences that you wish you had known on day one of your journey?"

You answer it.
You listen while others answer it.
And something unexpected happens.
You realise you are not alone.

Things that stay with you:

๐Ÿง  Perspectives you had not considered. Someone in that room has faced what you are facing โ€” and found a way through. You get to hear how.
๐Ÿค A different kind of connection. Not a LinkedIn connection. A genuine one. The kind that comes from hearing someone's real story, not their polished headline.
๐Ÿ“ Something written down. Not notes from a speaker. Something from the person sitting next to you. Something that proves you were seen.
๐Ÿ’Œ A glimpse of what comes next. This community is building something beyond this event โ€” think professional referrals, opportunities, and people helping people find work. More on that soon.

Why I am doing this?

I started Third Culture Society because I got tired of watching smart, capable people feel invisible.

I watched international students graduate with good degrees and no idea what to do next. I watched young professionals sit alone in shared apartments, missing the kind of friendships that did not need explaining. I watched people send job after job into the void, wondering if anyone would ever write back.

And I realised something.

There was room for building something that actually helps.
Not another lecture. Not another networking event where everyone presents how well they are doing.

Just a table. Real people. One honest question.

That is what this is.

And if you are reading this and something in you recognises what I am describing, then you already know why you should come.
