Nosferatu Live Improvised Score

This meetup is for hanging out and experiencing the event together; everyone is responsible for purchasing their own ticket.

ALL AGES WELCOME

Join us at the Crescent Theater for a very different kind of movie night: F.W. Murnau’s 1922 horror classic Nosferatu accompanied by a completely live, improvised musical score.

So, what does that mean? Nosferatu is a silent film, meaning there is no modern dialogue or prerecorded movie soundtrack. Instead, the film will play on the big screen while Mike Dillon, Chris “Baby” Spies, Brian Haas and James Singleton create the music live in the moment, responding to the action, mood and imagery as the movie unfolds.

Think of it as a horror movie + live concert + improvisational performance all happening at once. The musicians aren't simply playing a soundtrack that was written ahead of time—they're reacting to the film and each other in real time, so the experience is unique to this performance.

Nosferatu is one of the foundational films of horror cinema, with Max Schreck's iconic Count Orlok at the center of its eerie, expressionistic world.

This should be a particularly cool night for anyone into:
🎬 Classic & horror movies
🎵 Live music
🎸 Experimental / improvisational music
🦇 Gothic atmosphere
🎭 Unusual theater experiences
