Local Exploring - Trivandrum! [Meetup]

Hi All,

Thanks to Suneesh (Organizer of this group), I am now a Co-Organizer of this wonderful group of Travellers here in our sunny city of Trivandrum :)

I would like to take this opportunity to see if some of you would like to meet up this weekend (Saturday 12th March, 2016) and potentially help out with or attend some "Local Exploring Trips" here in Trivandrum and surrounding environs.

Plans include to visit the following places:

In Trivandrum:

• Napier Museum, Natural History Museum and others
• Sree Chitra Art Gallery and Art Club formation
• Palaces and Cultural Venues
• Temples Tours and Ashram Visits
• Specific tourist spots such as Veli Tourist Village, Akkulam Boat Club (places that are a bit run down)
• Other local hotspots including city walking tours and "crawls"

Just Outside Trivandrum/Surrounding Areas:

• Varkala, Kovalam, Vizhinjam, Chowara [Day Trips]
• Bonacaud, Palode, Neyyar Dam, Anchuthengu, etc.

[optional] Luxury Tourism Hotspots and Places:

• 5 star Resorts in and around Kovalam
• Specialty and Exclusive Ayurveda Destinations
• Offshore and International Locations (Lakshadweep, Maldives, etc.)

Overall the goal is to form an ACTIVE community of "thoughtful and considerate travellers" where the aim is to educate and create awareness about safe and ethical tourism practices; in addition to potentially working alongside government and municipal bodies in Trivandrum to provide a "community outreach platform" for both domestic as well as international travellers.

My plan is to involve each and everyone of you that is interested - to create something bigger than the sum of our parts. As a group, with a little bit of direction, we will then be able to incorporate everybody's travel ambitions, networking along the way, as well as increasing our own exposure to the wonderful visages our country has to offer :)
