Local Exploring - Part II

Since a lot of us couldn't make it last Saturday 12th March for our 1st meetup -- some of us have decided that we will try and meetup again so that we may get acquainted and understand what our interests are to get new trips off the ground.

Rather than aim for "public" and "mass participation" I would like to emphasize that the goal of these trips are "not just to have a social fun" -- rather the aim is to explore and understand an area of Trivandrum (and surrounding areas) with a greater appreciation. This would entail:

• Doing research on the places to be visited/areas to be explored
• Understanding/Appreciating the "nature" of the area visited (e.g. Wildlife Reserve will be a different experience from Urban City Centre)
• "Learning by Doing": If possible, we will try to combine visiting a new area with some form of activity, which could range from Guided Tours/Hikes to Participating in Building/Working in the facility to which we plan to visit/explore.

Overall, the concept that is being promoted is "Experiential Travel" --- and it's important that all of us realize this before committing to trips and not being able to uphold our end of the deal.
