Please contact Ratheesh for more information regarding this change of plan, as well as where to meet tomorrow morning. Please call: 9895836069 if you still wish to go on the trip.
--------------- OLD DESCRIPTION:----------------------Neyyar was declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1958. The extent of the sanctuary is 128 sq. km. The Neyyar River originates from the Agasthyamalais which the legends say is the home of sage Agasthya. The water of Neyyar has a metaphor of being the most "creamiest of milk" i.e: ‘Ghee or Neyy’ and hence the name ‘Neyyar’.
Neyyar is 40 km from Trivandrum. This is a 2-day nature camp where where we will go on a 2 hours boating excursion on the first day (Saturday 23rd April) passing by the Meenmutty Waterfalls, a visit to the Crocodile Rehabilitation Centre, and staying the night in the Forest Dept. Basic Lodge (which has beds and bathroom facilities), followed by a 6km trek through the Wildlife Sanctuary on Sunday 24th April. We aim to return back to Trivandrum city by 5pm on Sunday.
