Lonely at the Top

The promotion letter came on a Friday.
​On Monday I went back to the same desk, the same team, the same work.

Only the designation had changed.

​If you’ve been there, you know the feeling.

Things look fine on paper. You can’t say what’s missing.
And you can’t say it to anyone, because everyone thinks you’ve made it.
​I spent about 15 years in that rush. I called it ambition.
