Sharing Our Writing Process

Details

So you've got an idea for a story? Get in line!

As writers, we get inspired by something strongly enough that we feel we must write it down. It comes with the territory.

In this meeting, we will be discussing how we find a way to put that inspiration on the page. Specifically, what each of us do in order to put those first words onto the page and get the whole writing process going. This isn't necessarily asking how we edit our rough drafts and complete our final drafts, but rather how we go about beginning to write our rough drafts. Are there those among us who outline or plot out their writing beforehand? Are there those among us who do no plotting beforehand and write by the seat of their pants? Are there those who sit somewhere in between?

This meeting will focus on what each of us writers specifically have to do or go through in order to get the ham over the fire and get it cooking. This can include our experiences with the rough draft process as well.

(Have a character chart that you fill out in order to find your bearings? Have a certain kind of music that helps put you into the world of your writing? Bringing any relevant material to share is always welcome!)

*Note that you do not have to be a fiction writer for this discussion to be relevant! We will be eager to listen regardless of your genre or medium!
