OUR LAST MEETING

THIS WILL BE THE LAST MEETING TO BE POSTED ON THIS GROUP'S PAGE (but it won't be the last meeting we will ever hold)! Keep reading for more info going forward!

Long story short, Meetup.com requires a subscription fee to create and maintain a group. Jon and Ryan have decided not to renew that subscription for personal reasons, so our group's page is probably going to fade out of existence.

But this doesn't mean that our group is going to disappear completely!

Since Jon is moving out of state, he left the future of the group in Ryan's hands and he will be moving the group over to the Discord app. (If you're not familiar with it, it's a little like Facebook Group Messenger but with the ability to have different "chatrooms" for each group so that things are a little more organized (for example, one "chatroom" is dedicated to talking about when our in-person meetings will take place; another is dedicated to sharing book or art recommendations, and so on).)

Everyone here is more than welcome to join our group there! Just a heads up, the Discord group is set up to be more laissez faire than our regular meetings. Not to say it's going to be completely chaotic and inappropriate, but people are allowed to post more or less anything they want just so long as they don't get too crazy (keep things Safe For Work, please).

Our group page on Meetup.com will end on August 11th. This is the last meeting that will be posted on our page (but of course there will be other meetings in the future). If you're not sure if you want to join us on Discord, come meet with us this Friday on the 5th!

If you decide not to join Discord, just keep us in mind if you're near Black & Brew in Lakeland on a Friday around 6pm-8pm. We're not yet changing when and where we meet. :)
