ABOUT THE TALK

Join Robert, Tobias and Silvan as they talk about how Artificial Intelligence is currently shaping music. Besides diving into the underlying technology, they will draw from their own experiences as musicians to explore how AI is changing art. Be part of the discussion of what does and doesn’t constitute art when Artificial Intelligence is not only enhancing, but entirely taking over the creation process of music.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Tobias Waslowski is a software developer as well as hobby musician and music producer. He plays the violin, sings and produces for the informal Thoughtworks band “Germanÿ Noize” alongside Silvan. Tobias joined Thoughtworks in June of 2022 after getting his Bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science, with his Bachelor’s thesis revolving around the usage of Machine Learning in payment processing.

Silvan Thiele is a delivery principal & consultant at Thoughtworks as well as a hobby musician & music producer. His passion is playing and producing music on mobile devices to achieve a minimal footprint of equipment and be enabled at every creative moment and place. Silvan has a background in bands & music studios in the 90’s and has digitized and transferred these capabilities to an iPad, for production and live on stage. Silvan studied aeronautics, moved into digital during the dotcom bubble and has since acted in most roles of digital initiatives.

Robert Kotlowski is a delivery principal & consultant at Thoughtworks and a passionate vocalist. The main part he loves about singing is the magic connection between voice and lyrics. In the early 90's he took his first steps a school band’s lead singer and cultivated his singing and lyrics writing since then. Before Robert joined Thoughtworks in 2015, he studied statistics, starting his career as web developer - only to discover his passion for quality throughout all levels of software product delivery.
