We give endurance athletes of all levels a group venue to prepare for endurance multisport events like Triathlon and Duathlon. We do structured group training in lieu of practicing alone. We practice the skills of endurance sports, including pacing, hydration, nutrition and recovery.
Local police are aware of our events and offer surveillance of our cars and bikes when we are away.
We want people to get better and not charge them for a place to do that and feel safe.
We do a 16 mile bike ride at intensity, followed by a 2.3 mile run that includes a water stop at mile 1.2. Ride will split into groups early on, and we all do a turn at mile 8. Ride leader will ride with all first timers so they know the route.
When you enter the park, we use the first parking lot on the left.
We start at 6 pm. We are done between 7:10 and 7:25, before sunset.
This is a practice open water 1000 meter swim, followed by a fast 5 k run, simulating an aquathlon. We will jump off a dock and go out 500 meters before turning around and coming back. Once you leave the water, you will follow a marked 5 k path (safe!) through a nearby hilly subdivision. I will put out water at the halfway point on the run.
