What we’re about
Welcome to the group!
My goal with starting this group is to encourage others in and around their 30's to volunteer in Portland and the surrounding Metro areas throughout the year. It is more fun to volunteer with friends! If you have an organization in mind, I would be happy to help organize an event for others to join.
I enjoy keeping up with seasonal local events in Oregon. I will be hosting socials and fun outdoor events to create a community of people interested in making new friends, going on outdoor adventures, and impacting our city by getting involved in the local community. I am happy to hear suggestions on events you'd like to go to.
Please keep in mind there is a cost for me to run this group, any donation helps! I am currently drafting a schedule of seasonal events for next year. I also will be starting a Facebook Group and Instagram account for members to join as well.
Group Code of Conduct:
All members are required to follow the group rules for attending events.
I will continue to update this as needed. Events may have additional rules depending on the activity. If these are not adhered to, the member will be removed from the event and group. Rules are in place to keep everyone safe and to have events be enjoyable for everyone attending.
-Members are responsible for themselves while attending events
(safety, health needs, and transportation)
-All members must have healthy forms of communication and physical behavior that are conducive to a group environment. In person and in messages on events or direct messages. Aggressive behavior, negative self-talk, and negative comments towards others are unhealthy forms of communication.
-No advertising for other groups, posting volunteer event oppotunities are okay if they are direct to the non-profit, organizations website or websites such as Hands on Portland
-When attending a volunteer event, keep in mind you are representing this group. Group rules will need to be followed white attending events in the community.
-Photos and videos may be taken for marketing purposes. I will let people know when I am taking them. If you are not comfortable, please let me know in the moment.
-Group members must have a recent photo of themselves as their profile photo. This is for safety, members need to know who is attending the event.

Saturday, May 10, 2025 Tom McCall Waterfront Park, PortlandDoggie Dash would not be possible without the help of our amazing volunteers. There is a position at Doggie Dash for everyone. All volunteers who sign up to help on May 10th will receive a complimentary and exclusive Volunteer Doggie Dash t-shirt.
For those volunteering at event, please do not bring your own dogs with you. Information packets will be e-mailed to you about 5 days before the event. Please also note that volunteers will have to pay for their own parking at garages/meters around the event. Unfortunately, OHS cannot reimburse for this, but it is a tax deductible expense!
If you are interested in participating, I would recommend signing up soon. The position fill up fast! Last year I participated as a Course Monitor. It was so fun cheering on the cute dogs in costume to the finish line. I would recommend volunteering if you love dogs.
