Thrive Hive Valencia

Navigating self-employment in Spain is its own adventure. The rules change, the information conflicts, and most of us are figuring it out in isolation.

This gathering is intentional about changing that.

We meet in person in Valencia to share what we know, ask what we don't, and build a reliable resource that grows with the community. No experts at the front of the room. No sales. Just honest exchange among people living the same reality.

Expect conversation around taxes, gestors, invoicing tools, Verifactu, social security, and whatever else is top of mind. English is the primary language. Locals and expats equally welcome.

Typical Agenda
11:00 – 11:30 — Get to know you
11:30 – 12:30 — Autónomo topics
12:30 onwards — Further discussion as it naturally evolves

Between meetups, the conversation continues in our WhatsApp group — where we share updates, resources, and a growing Q&A document built from real questions. Join the group when you register.

Our space has a limited number of spots. Please keep your RSVP up to date so anyone waiting can join while we keep the room to a comfortable size.

If you are self-employed in Spain — or thinking about it — you belong here.

A continuation of the spirit of the Autónomos en España Facebook group — brought into a room.

Navigating self-employment in Spain is its own adventure, and the beginning is often the most confusing part. Which step comes first? Do you need a gestor? What is a certificado digital, and why does everything seem to need one?

This session is for anyone just starting out or partway through registration. Based on feedback from our last gathering, we now set aside every other meetup for getting started, so newcomers get focused time and don't have to wait for their turn.

Bring your questions. No question is too basic. Someone else in the room is probably wondering the same thing.

Recently registered? Please come and share what worked, what surprised you, and what you'd do differently. Your experience is exactly what someone else needs to hear.

Likely topics:

• The order of steps: NIE/TIE, certificado digital and Cl@ve, alta with Hacienda and Social Security
• Using a gestor or doing it yourself, and what services typically cost
• What changes once you're registered: facturas, quarterly filings, Verifactu
• Common first-year surprises
