Join us for an evening capturing the night sky in one of the most scenic coastal locations around. We’ll meet between 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM giving everyone time to settle in and set up. During setup, we’ll go over the essentials of star trail photography, including planning your shot, ideal settings, and composing with the lighthouse for striking results. We’ll begin shooting after 9:15 PM and continue till a little after 11:30 PM.

What to bring:

  • DSLR or mirrorless camera
  • Sturdy tripod
  • Wide-angle lens (recommended 14mm to 24mm)
  • Remote shutter release or intervalometer
  • Extra batteries & 64GB memory cards
  • Warm layers & waterproof boots
  • Small flashlight or headlamp with a red light option
  • A chair

The workshop is weather-dependent. Back up date is Saturday, February 21.

Bring your laptops and the images you captured at East Point and join us for a hands-on processing workshop on February 22, 2026. We’ll meet up at 3:00 PM and walk through how to organize, stack, and edit your star trails using various software options. You’ll get step-by-step guidance and personal help as you process your own shots from the night.
