Details

“If there is a remedy when trouble strikes,
What reason is there for despondency?
And if there is no help for it,
What use is there in being sad?”

This simple and practical advice, given by the eighth-century India philosopher Shantideva in The Way of the Bodhisattva (Bodhicharyavatara), is as useful now as it was over a thousand years ago. Treasured by Buddhists of all traditions, it is a guide to cultivating the mind of enlightenment, and to generating the qualities of love, compassion, generosity, and patience. This text has been studied, practiced, and expounded upon in an unbroken tradition for centuries. To facilitate our study, we will use Pema Chodron’s book “No Time to Lose” as the primary material. We will do Zoom meeting to read this book and discuss as a group.
