Hello friends,

This event raises funds for ground work during India’s current devastating Second Wave of COVID-19.

Join us in these Yoga & Meditation sessions and in compassion with the suffering. We are guided by a couple of warm-hearted teachers sharing their particular Yoga systems and wisdom with us. You’re welcome to participate in any and all of these, be kind to yourself and mindful of the gift of health and relative comfort, for nothing is permanent and we must never take anything for granted.

India currently experiences a dramatic escalation of COVID-19 infections and faces the challenge of inadequate supply of medical infrastructure.
We translate situations like these into numbers and statistics, because we need a way to quantify the impact of our counter measures. But let’s remember that everyone of these cases is a person. Every death is a family’s tragedy.

In this calamity, a lot of the ground work rests on the shoulders of grassroots organisations such as the Khaana Chahiye Foundation and Goonj.

The Khaana Chahiye Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Mumbai. It aims to combat the issue of hunger through relief efforts and advocacy initiatives. The organization started as a relief operation during the COVID-19 lockdown in Mumbai and became one of the most extensive crisis management operations in the city.

Goonj envisions to grow as an idea across regions, economies and countries using urban discard as a tool to alleviate poverty and enhance the dignity of the poor in the world, addressing basic but neglected needs of the poor by involving them in evolving their own solutions with dignity and urban material as reward. The “Rahat COVID” program is Goonj‘s response to the particular evolution of this pandemic.

With this Yoga-Fundraiser we want to draw attention to the crucial work these NGOs are doing on the frontlines. If you can, join us in donating to their cause. And to ponder, in these uncommon times, the gift of life.
