What we're about

This group is for anyone interested in learning about Buddhist meditation (http://www.palyulcanada.org/buddhist-path/buddhist-meditation/) practices under the guidance of Ven. Lama Jigme (http://www.palyulcanada.org/teachers/lama-jigme-chokyi-lodro/), Spiritual Director of Orgyan Osal Cho Dzong Buddhist Temple and Retreat Centre. (http://www.palyulcanada.org/orgyan-osal-cho-dzong/)

These classes will cover the theory and practice of Buddhist meditation, how to focus on mindfulness of the breath to still the mind, and how the utilization of this mental quiescence will help you to develop insight into the nature of the self, the world, and your inherent Buddha nature which is the vast, free, and completely enlightened reality at the heart of all beings.

Each session will consist of a talk to be followed by meditation instruction and practice. At the end of the class there will be an opportunity to ask further questions or speak privately with Lama Jigme. This series is open to beginners as well as advanced practitioners.

Cost: Throughout his lifetime spent teaching the path to liberation, the Buddha never asked for a fee. However, those who attended his teachings understood that the only means of support he and his monks had were the kind donations of those who attended. Following the Buddha’s example, we do not charge for meditation instruction, but if you would like to make an offering, it is very much appreciated. Having been asked what would be appropriate, we would suggest a donation* of $20, more or less based on your financial situation.

*All donations of $25 and up will receive a tax deductible donation receipt — (please include your name and address).

The space for these teachings has been kindly offered by Arabesque Academy.
