Available Weekends: April through June are historically the busiest times for cabin rentals. The cabin can be rented up to 8 weeks in advance, and 6 of the next 8 weeks are available.
To rent the cabin you must 1. be a member of the club, and 2. participate in a cabin maintenance / orientation weekend, like this one. Cabin maintenance / orientation trips are meant to acquaint new members with the cabin, its history and its rules, how to open and close it up, how to operate the wood-burning cook stove, etc

- Fall Maintenance Weekend and Family CampoutSherando Lake Recreation Area, Lyndhurst, VA
It's finally time for TATC's Fall Maintenance and Family Campout Weekend!
Camping: Williams Branch Picnic area of Sherando Lake; Friday, October 24th – Sunday, October 26th
Maintenance: Saturday, October 25th - the club will be providing dinner on Saturday!
This is a weekend for us to do what the club was set up to do! We’ll maintain our assigned section of the Appalachian Trail, the Mau-Har Trail, the White Rocks Falls trail, plus more! Come out to our basecamp at Sherando Lake Recreation Area on Friday as early as noon; set up your tent at the Williams Branch Picnic Area, keeping in mind that the gate is usually locked at 10PM and opens on Saturday morning at 6AM. If the gate is staffed, let them know you are with TATC to help with AT maintenance and you will not be charged an entry fee. Crew signup sheets will be available Friday; Saturday organizational meeting at 7:45AM. Optional hikes typically available on Sunday.

- Fort Monroe Hike with AndyOozelfinch , Hampton, VA
Fort Monroe Walk/Hike (rescheduled from October 11th)
10:00 am to around 12:30 pm (for the walk/hike)
Location: We'll meet in the parking lot Northeast of Oozlefinch Brewing (81 Patch Rd, Hampton, VA 23651), near the corner of Patch and Pullman roads at 10 am, with a planned start at 10:15.
Description: This will be an approximately 4 mile mostly flat walk through the fort and then along the bulkhead from the Chamberlin up to the Paradise Beach Club and then back to our starting point. We'll be making brief stops at many of the historical locations that are part of the Fort Monroe tour as well as a planned stop about 1/4 of the way along our walk at Firehouse Coffee for caffeine/soda/ice cream, etc. for those that might want a refreshment.
The weather in early October can be unpredictable, so dress accordingly and consider sunscreen. This is a family and dog friendly event.
