Join us on Wednesday, 2/20 at Company (formerly GCT) for a talk by Gary Elliott, an engineer on Cloud Bigtable at Google.

Google’s Bigtable was built to power Google’s search index and is used widely throughout the company for a variety of use cases including storing time series data. Prometheus and OpenTSDB are open source systems inspired by Borgmon, Google’s internal monitoring system built on top of Bigtable.

In this talk we’ll cover how Bigtable works, why time series data is a natural fit, and best practices when designing a NoSQL schema for your data. You’ll also learn about open source systems, including OpenTSDB, that make storing time series data in Cloud Bigtable easy. Finally, we’ll share some details about how our customers are solving complicated problems at scale, and the lessons they’ve learned along the way.
