The Arcadian Circle: Second Chances
Details
The Arcadian Circle: Second Chances is a participatory oral storytelling and community cultural exchange experience centred on shared lived experience, personal narrative and reflective conversation.
Through a guided reflective exercise and oral storytelling, participants will explore the theme of Second Chances — the moments that change us, the people who help us, and the experiences that shape how we understand ourselves and one another.
Creator and facilitator Tania Haldar will open the Circle by sharing a personal story. This will be followed by invited storytelling and an opportunity for participants to contribute their own memories, perspectives and lived experiences if they wish. There is no pressure to speak; listening and reflection are equally valued.
Tania created The Arcadian Circle from a belief that people deserve opportunities to begin again, find hope after difficult turns and feel less alone as they move through life. The Circle uses storytelling as a way for people to encounter experiences beyond their own and discover the humanity they share.
This Second Chances Special Edition, in partnership with Canadian Blood Services, will explore what another chance can mean through human stories of giving and receiving — and the extraordinary difference one person can make in another person’s life.
By bringing people from different backgrounds and generations into one storytelling circle, individual experiences become part of a wider community narrative — creating an opportunity for cultural exchange, listening, reflection and human connection.
Come alone. Come as you are. Grab a coffee and take a seat. You are welcome to listen, contribute, share a perspective or simply be part of the conversation.
