Bug Rodeo at Pomona Grange (Burlington)

Yee-haw! Let's round up some insects to learn about them! This week, we meet at Pomona Grange Park a little north of Burlington. Then we'll go for a walk in the area to collect some bugs. We'll share the bugs we found, and release them back to their homes in the wild. We'll finish off the morning with a picnic together.
*Note: Latex gloves and clear plastic cups and lids will be provided to help with bug collection and display.
Timeline:
10:00 - Meet at the park
10:15 - Begin walk / bug collection
10:45 - Return to picnic area
10:50 - Share bugs with the club
11:00 - Story time with Mr. Adam (organizer)
11:10 - Picnic
What to bring:
-Your tiny explorer (ages 0-4)
-Kids' transportation (carrier and/or stroller for some gentle off-roading)
-Food, utensils, and napkins for yourself and your family
-Your preferred seating and/or blankets for the ground
*There are picnic tables and benches at the park, but I can't guarantee they'll be available.
Bathrooms:
This park has port-o-potty's only.
Notes on risk and safety:
-All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 18+.
-Adults attendees are responsible for their own children and the safety of their children at all times. It is each parent's/guardian's responsibility to determine whether each activity is appropriate for their child's participation.
-Older siblings are welcome, with proper parent/guardian supervision.
-This outing has risks including, but not limited to: falls, insect bites/stings, hurting plants (thorn pricks, itching, etc.), head-bonking hard surfaces (benches, concrete, rocks, etc.), splinters, incidental sharp edges from items/equipment in the park, waterfront/drowning, passing vehicles.
