Re: [Asheville-Sustainable-Building-Living-Co-Operative] Monthly Co-op Update

Catherine,

Just saw your Saturday note.  Your notice is wonderfully informative, invites productivity, and is not too long.  It provides an opportunity for input and also invites information sharing.  If I were to suggest any improvement it would only be to mention the next meeting date (Oct 20th) and a location.

We could hold the meeting at my place again, but would need to ask some people to walk or shuttle others from remote parking.  Parking more than 7-8 cars at my house could piss off the neighbors. We can fit about 7-8 many in my driveway, yard, and in front of my neighbor's screen fence.  There is plenty of free overflow parking 4 blocks away on WT Weaver Blvd.

If we hold the meeting here we can comfortably fit 20 people either here in the house or below on the covered patio by the carport.

By the way, my name is spelled David Funsten, with no "i" in the last name.  Origin is Old English, not german.
Bernice's last name is Peltier.
ThIs not really important, but I thought you'd want to know.

I'm usually available during the week, and think a few short presentations for the next meeting are in order.  Anything regarding the building process could be covered since we haven't done any subject in-depth.  Call me if you are interested in brainstorming over coffee about the next meeting:[masked]  (Can't talk a long time on the phone though.  I've used a lot of minutes this month and cycle doesn't reset 'til the 19th.)  Meeting for coffee with lots of paper and markers seems like a good idea though.  Let me know.

- David

Subject: [Asheville-Sustainable-Building-Living-Co-Operative] Monthly Co-op Update

Hello Co-op Members and Welcome to Folks Who Are Just Joining Us!

Thank you for Your Contributions!
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far! I was able to pay for the “Meet-Up” website for the next six months. If you have not yet made your contribution, please bring it to the next meeting. There will be a donation can available.
Lectures and Topics of Discussion Needed
We need discussion, lecture or presentation ideas for our group meetings so they will be fun and informative! Would folks please take a moment to reply with topics you would like to have discussed or something you would like more information about. Also, if anyone has a topic they would like to share or other related expertise, please let me know what you would like to prepare and at which meeting. Finally, do you know someone who might like to speak to the group? Please invite them to prepare something for us and once again, I'll see they get penciled in.
Meeting Update
In our last meeting, we discussed the basic goals of the co-op which was to learn, network with others and volunteer working on each others’ projects. We also discussed having a basic Agenda for each meeting, below. If anyone has suggestions or comments, please do let me know and we will add it to the Agenda for the day. Lastly, we discussed the Southern Green Building Expo. It sounds like there were a lot of interesting companies and exciting new products for us all to look forward to in the future!
