January Workshop: Intro to IoT (FREE - materials provided)
Details
January Workshop: Intro to IoT
- No Cost: Chips are provided. They don't taste very good, though, so lunch (and coffee!) will also be free.
- No Soldering: Everything will be ready to go and only require a minimal amount of plugging things together, and the connections will be clearly labeled.
- Vision Notice: We will be dealing with fine details less than 2mm in size. It is highly recommended to bring reading glasses, magnifying lenses, or a magnification phone app to help see, even if you have perfect vision!
A New Track
Small electronics and sensors have come a long way, even since a decade ago when classes popped up everywhere teaching people how to blink a light with an Ardunino board.
We're kicking off 2026 with an embedded development course to help demystify what goes on inside tiny connected devices and how they deliver info to your screen. The class will start with plugging a few things together, writing a little simple code to get data moving, and finish with a single web page plotting the data in real time.
This is an intro course and taught at a hobby level, but all levels are welcome. Regardless of whether you have no clue and are just curious, want to reignite an old hobby, or do it professionally and just want to enjoy the simple things again, come out and join us!
