TMUG - What I did on my summer vacation - In person meeting Aug 11 2025

In person meeting. NOTE the 6:30pm start time.

David Ross will describe his odd summer. Well spring and summer.

In our family we:
- Bought an Apple watch
- Lost a car in an accident
- Bought an EV on 5 days notice
- Did a deep dive into various EV support apps
- (Both 3rd party and from the car manufacturer.)
- Installed a charger for home use.
- Went on a 10 day road trip where the 1100 miles doubled the mileage on the new EV car.
- Attended a 3 1/2 day Mac Tech conference
- Learned a lot about car play, finding chargers, planning routes, etc... all on Macs, iPads, and iPhones.

Fun times.

FYI - It was NOT a Tesla we bought. The reason being I had rented one before for a week and just didn't like it as a car. Personal opinion.

More details at the meeting. Mostly about tech. Both Apple and autos. And if you don't know it, modern autos are very tech heavy.

Plus our usual Q&A / back and forth.
