In this Meetup we will be doing 3 fabulous things:

• Chatting and mingling with lots of beer and pizza

• Hearing awesome presentations and Q&A

• More chatting and mingling with lots of beer and pizza!

This month's presentations will be:

  1. Hosting your personal website with GitHub for free - Graham Robertson (http://graham-robertson.ca/)

  2. WordPress: What Is It Good For? - Andy McIIwain (https://ca.linkedin.com/in/andymci)

You may have heard that WordPress is an amazing platform that powers over 25% of the web. You may have also heard that WordPress is an insecure, overrated blogging tool. As with most debates, there are truths on both sides. In this talk we'll look at when you should use WordPress, and when you should avoid it.

Our mission:

To unite coders and designers to learn from each other, build partnerships, and have fun! No matter what skill level you are at in your field, novice or advanced, all are welcome!

Cost:

$10 advance through Meetup.com

*Covers open bar and food

Lab T.O. (http://labto.com/) - Lab T.O. is a co-working space for digital professionals, creatives and entrepreneurs in Toronto.

What are the benefits? Aside from having super-fast internet, an ergonomic chair and limitless coffee, members also help support each other and are encouraged to learn skills, share contacts, and, of course, make new friends and business partners.

With the increase in remote working and freelancing, co-working helps meet the needs of workers in the digital economy.
