Toastmasters 7 Meeting

Brief Intro:
Welcome to San Diego Toastmasters 7 (SDTM7). We are a club of Toastmasters International, a 501c non-profit educational organization.
Since 1930, our club's goal has been to nurture an inclusive and encouraging environment that allows members to practice personal growth, leadership skills and public speaking!

The SDTM7 community is diverse and our pursuit to create opportunities for an expansion of ideas and perspectives is at our core.

Full description of meeting:
Our typical meeting format has three main parts:
Introduction: The Toastmaster runs the evening meeting with a brief introduction and a hello from a few guests. The members performing the Functionary roles are introduced and they will give an overview of their duties: Grammarian, Timer, Vote counter and Ah-Counter.

Part 1. The Table Topics Master is introduced and will ask some Table Topics questions to several guests and members. Table Topics are impromptu and entertaining questions asked to allow thinking on your toes. These are really a lot of fun!

Part 2. Prepared Speakers, usually three prepared speeches by our members. In between the audience offered one minute to write down some feedback to each of the speakers.

Part 3. Speech Evaluations are performed by members who will present feedback to each of the prepared speeches with different perspectives on elements done well and where there may be room for improvement. A general meeting evaluation is given to offer a general overview of the evening.

Conclusion: Votes are counted for best speeches in: Table Topic, Evaluator and Prepared Speaker. Followed by the three awards handed out! If time permits a few other guests may be asked to share their thoughts of the meeting.
Meeting ends and all are encouraged to help clean up and put equipment (Table, Chairs and supplies) away.

**Please note, if you attend and do not want to speak, No pressure, that is OK! We encourage anyone who is interested in learning more or joining, to please visit at least three meetings to get a feel for it.
