About us: we are a Toastmasters club with a slant for debate and persuasion. We offer a safe and supportive learning environment to practice skills crucial for success in today's professional world:
- Analytical & critical thinking
- Active listening and empathy
- Problem-solving
- Power of persuasion
- Leadership
Like in other Toastmasters clubs, our members practice various public and personal communication techniques through Toastmasters curriculum Pathways. However, our club also hosts a debate session once a month to hone critical thinking, analytical, active listening, and persuasive skills. Often adopting hot current topics, our debates are based on Toastmasters' basic principles of professionalism, objectiveness, mutual respect, and support for each other. Our debates are to foster open-mindedness and train meta-thinking skills.
Don't feel ready to debate? No worries! Come as you are, and just observe! All visitors are welcome.
