What we’re about
District 45 has clubs in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island,Newfoundland, Labrador, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. We can help you develop over 300 competencies in leadership and communication. As most clubs are meeting online, we welcome guests from any part of the world.
Many of our clubs are meeting exclusively online making it easier than ever to attend a meeting that fits your own time availability. Make sure to closely check the meeting start time (in the event description) to see what time (and time zone AST or EST) the meeting starts. It is always recommended to use the contact link in each event description ahead of time to ensure you are supplied the zoom address in advance.

Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization that teaches public speaking and leadership development. There are clubs all around the world including a club right here at Saint Mary's University!
If you struggle with presentations, networking, leadership, or even time management, Halifax Toastmasters at SMU is a friendly and supportive environment to help you improve your skills.How does it work?
During our weekly meeting, you will have the opportunity to present a prepared or impromptu speech. You will learn how to give and receive feedback in a positive and supportive way. Through the many meeting roles, you will have the opportunity to practice speaking fluently, using changes in your voice and movement to engage with the audience, and active listening skills.
Our meetings are in-person at room number ME104, Mcnally East building, Saint Mary's University! Gain experience in presenting and learn how to use body language and vocal variety to stand out in interviews.
