Spring is the perfect season to start something new!

Would you like to begin learning public speaking this year?

If you want to improve your communication skills, including public speaking, Toastmasters offers a fun and supportive environment to practice speeches and presentations in both English and Japanese.

Each speaker receives feedback from club members, and through this feedback you can further improve your communication skills.

This is one of the great benefits of attending a Toastmasters club.
No preparation is needed for club visits! Feel free to join us!

Event Details:

  • Date: February 8th, 2026
  • Time: 10AM-12PM (JST)
  • Location: Online (ZOOM)
    The ZOOM URL will be sent to the guests upon receipt of your participation request (via Meetup direct message).
  • Theme: Enjoy learning Japanese / English public speaking together!

Agenda:

  1. Welcome and Icebreaker: Get to know fellow learners and create a comfortable atmosphere.
  2. English Session:
    - Member Speech Presentation (1-2 speeches)
    Witness inspiring speeches in English that demonstrate language proficiency and confidence.
    - Impromptu Speeches (Table Topics)
    You can see how you can improve communication skills, such as the quick response, giving a short speech promptly.
    You may give an impromptu speech if you wish.
    - Feedback from members
    By watching this, you can see how our club members receive constructive advice and inspiration from other members.
  3. 5 minutes break
  4. Japanese Session:
    - Member Speech Presentation (1-2 speeches)
    Witness inspiring speeches in Japanese that demonstrate language proficiency and confidence.
    - Impromptu Speeches (Table Topics)
    You can see how you can improve communication skills, such as the quick response, giving a short speech promptly.

    *You can also use ZOOM's translated subtitles to understand part of the speeches.
  5. Wrap-up session: Receive constructive feedback on language usage and pronunciation.

Guest Visit:
You may attend up to 3 club meetings (regular meetings) of the Yokohama Ocean Toastmasters Club as a guest free of charge.

Admission Fee and Monthly Membership Fee:
Yokohama Ocean Toastmasters Club charges an admission fee at the time of joining and a monthly membership fee.
(Including the cost of the Pathways online program)
Admission Fee: JPY 3,200
Monthly Membership Fee: JPY 1,700
(paid in advance for 6 months in March and September)
