START THE NEW YEAR OFF RIGHT WITH COMEDY AT HUMOROUS TOASTMASTERS!

Happy New Year! If your resolutions for 2026 include becoming more confident in speaking before an audience, getting your message across more effectively, or just simply having more fun in your life, then we have the perfect event for you! Come to the next meeting of Humorous Toastmasters on Wednesday, January 14th, and you will fulfill all of your resolutions in one fell swoop!

On January 14th, we will be hosting an Open House event featuring guest speaker Andrew Engel, Founder of Manhattan Comedy School, who will be presenting a workshop on Stand-up Comedy. Stand-up will improve your public speaking, pitches, presentations, and more importantly, will increase your confidence. And Andrew is the perfect person to help guide us!

Andrew Engel has been an established comedy producer in New York City for over 25 years. Among his many accomplishments is having created the New Talent shows at Caroline’s on Broadway, where many well-known comics got their starts, including such luminaries such as Jim Gaffigan and Kevin Hart. You will walk away from Andrew’s workshop ready to take on 2026 with gusto!

We will be meeting at Pier 57 (address below), located in Hudson River Park between Little Island and the Chelsea Piers. Please follow the directions for the Oyster classroom. We are unique among New York Toastmasters clubs in that in addition to the typical Toastmasters meeting segments such as prepared speeches, Table Topics and speech evaluations, we also offer an Improv segment that is a lot of fun and which everyone can participate in.

Directions:
By Subway, take the A, C, E or L train to 14th Street. The train will leave you off on 8th Avenue. From there, walk west to the West Side Highway and 15th Street,
By Bus, take the M14, M20, or M11 bus to 14th Street and then walk to the West Side Highway.
