What we’re about

We’re a small book club based in Leipzig with 20 active members, founded in March 2024. While we mostly gravitate toward classic literature, we enjoy reading a wide variety of books. We’ve been on a bit of a “world tour,” exploring books from different cultures and authors around the globe. Recently, we have also started an additional reading group within our book club, focusing on books with political themes, some eg: Hannah Arendt and George Orwell, as well as Fahrenheit 451.

We meet monthly to discuss books. You can view the past reads of our book club in the “past events”. We are an international group of young people with around 20 active members, and our community is steadily growing. Some of us are university students, while others are already working. Our group mainly consists of people in their 20s and 30s, and we would be happy to welcome new members around a similar age.

How the club works:
Our core principles are simple: respect everyone, and feel free to share your opinions, especially when things don’t go as planned.

We choose our next read through a voting process. Everyone submits a few book suggestions, we discuss them, and then we vote to pick one.
