Bookclub Meeting: Greek Lessons by Han Kang
Details
Our next read is Greek Lessons by Han Kang.
This time we have landed again on South Korea with our World tour.
In this book, Han Kang explores themes of loss, language, and human connection in a very delicate, almost meditative way. The story follows two characters: a woman who has lost her ability to speak, and a man who is gradually losing his sight. Through their shared experience of absence of words, of vision they form a subtle yet powerful bond.
We’ll meet at a cozy café, sip warm drinks, and share our thoughts in good company.
Over the last few months, our book club has grown a lot, and we’re happy to have so many new members. We’re still open to welcoming more people, but our capacity is limited, so please understand if we can’t offer everyone a spot. Priority will always go to our long-time members.
If we’re able to offer you a spot, we’ll share the location details with you.
Please note that this month we’ll be discussing both Greek Lessons and Children of the Alley—we’ll meet together at the same café, but sit at different tables for each book; please check the other event for Children of the Alley.
