About Our Speaker
Becky Ball is the Upstream Lead at Space Scotland, the government-endorsed national body representing Scotland’s thriving space sector. In this role, she predominantly supports companies working across satellite manufacture and launch operations. In her previous role as the Special Projects Delivery Manager, she managed the development of Scotland's strategy for In-orbit Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing (ISAM) and for cross-sector collaboration with life sciences and AI. Becky also led the Scotland-specific Pivot into Space grant and support programme, designed to encourage non-space companies into the sector.
In May 2025, Becky graduated as a Karsh International Scholar from Duke University, majoring in Mathematics. Passionate about advancing the space industry, she dedicated her time to leadership, research, and professional development in the sector. Through her two years as President of Duke Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS), Becky led projects across engineering, policy, and medicine to inspire and connect students with opportunities in the sector. She also participated in Duke’s Future Space Settlements: Lessons from History Bass Connections course, exploring the legal frameworks required to live in space safely, sustainably, and equitably.
Outside of university, Becky was a member of the inaugural class of the Prospero Space Fellowship in the UK. She has served as a Director of the Fellowship since September 2024, leading Masterclasses and programme development. The Fellowship supports university students interested in entering the space sector by providing them with mentorship, training, and experience.
What to expect:
The evening will kick off with a structured networking session along with pizza and some drinks, followed by a panel of speakers sharing their experiences and insights in tech and tech-adjecent spacaes!
Our goal is to create a supportive space that encourages women in tech to share, learn, and grow together.
