What we’re about
Shibuya Swimming Club is a friendly, international lap-swim meetup at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium (50m pool). We simply gather at the same time, each person swims their own laps (no coaching, no set), and we enjoy casual chat before/during/after. The aim is a warm, respectful vibe—not the usual silent, territorial lanes—so swimmers feel relaxed, welcomed, and connected.
Who we hope to meet: anyone from any background who enjoy lane swimming and positive community.
Pace guideline (for safety & lane flow): please be comfortable swimming 50m continuously as the pool is 50m.
What to expect: self-paced lap swim for ~60 minutes, optional coffee/chat afterward. Follow posted pool etiquette. English/Japanese OK. Zero harassment; high respect.
Cost: Meetup is free. Please pay your own entry fee to the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium.
Bring: goggles, swim cap, and good energy. (Bring water if you like, there’s free tap water there fyi)
Founded by Shota, who wanted a friendlier way to enjoy the 50m lanes and connect swimmers from around the world. Come for the swim, stay for the community.
