Tokyo Breakfast Toastmasters

Toastmasters is an organisation dedicated to improving professional speaking and leadership skills.

Toastmaster Meetings consist of the following:

• President's Opening

• Thought of the Day

• Introduction of Guests

• Introduction of Toastmaster of the Day

• Introduction of Functionaries (people who help the meeting run smoothly)

• Prepared Speeches (2~4 speakers, members work from various manuals which cover different topics (ex. basic speaking skills, structure, vocal variety, humour, use of props, etc.) within a certain time limit (depending on the level of the speech)

• Table Topics (members are called at random to speak off-the-cuff about a certain topic or question)

• Evaluations (cover prepared speeches)

• General Evaluation (covers all other areas of the meeting)
