A special picnic version of the book club! There is no theme, but please be aware that the location is different than usual, and we will be outside. This event will be free, but please pay your entry into the park and bring a snack or drink to share. *this event will be cancelled in the event of rain*

An English language book club for fiction lovers, where you can bring any fictional or literary book that you want to talk about!
Do you want to talk about the books that you read,
but don't have any bookish friends?
Do you want to take part in a book club,
but don't want to have to read a specific book?
Did you just read a great book and want to tell someone about it?
If so, then this might be the book club for you!
I noticed that all of the English language book events that I could find in Tokyo were the classic style of book club, where everyone reads the same book and discusses it. Instead, I'm hoping to start a book club that's more similar to a Japanese-style "dokusho-kai", where everyone can bring a book that they just read or an old favorite and introduce it to the group. I want to create a space where English native speakers and non-native speakers alike can talk about their favorite books in English. All you
need to do is bring a book that you want to talk about! (Please note that as is implied by the name of the group, I ask that you bring a work of fictionー no business books, etc.)

Location: Shinjuku (I will message participants the night before explaining where to meet)
General rules:
・Please keep it positive, if you don't like one of the books, please keep it to yourself
・Discussions are encouraged, but please don't talk over others or hijack someone else's turn to give your opinion on their book
・Works of fiction only!
＊Please note that all types of harassment, violent or abusive language, actions that don't respect the privacy of other participants, and any kind of networking for business, religious, or any other purposes are strictly forbidden.
Participants who exhibit such behaviors will be asked to leave and will be reported.
If you have any problems with another participant's actions, please let me know!

春なので今回は特別にピクニックにしようと思っています！テーマはありませんが、いつもの場所ではなく、公園に開催します。野外で行う点ご留意ください。今回の参加費は無料ですが、公園の入場料はご自身で負担をお願いいたします。皆でシェアが可能なお飲み物かお菓子をお持ちいただけますと幸いです。＊雨天の場合は中止になります＊

さて、東京フィクションサークルの読書会はなんでしょうか？
英語の小説限定の読書会です！池袋のレンタルスペースにて好きな英語の本を持ち込み、みんなが好きな本について紹介し合う会です！
欧米での読書会は、参加する全員が同じ本を読んで、英語で深く論じる会が基本です。ですが、私は日本の読書会のようにみんなが好きな小説を持ち寄って紹介し合う会を作りたいんです！対象の本は小説・フィクションとなります。 ビジネス書等の持ち込みはお控えください。
読書会の言語は英語ですが、ネイティブ以外の方も大歓迎！もし英語で説明しづらい、わからないことがあれば当日主催者がお手伝いいたしますのでご安心ください。ただし、英語学び会でなく、英語が読める、英語が話せる方が対象となります。
自分のお気に入りの本を、みんなで共有し合いましょう！
★以下の方にオススメです
・英語で小説を読むけれど、アウトプットをする場所がない方
・自分の大好きな小説を、他の本の虫に紹介したい方
・英語の読書会に参加したいけど、決められた本を読みたくない方

場所は新宿ですが、
イベント前日の夜に、参加する方のみに集合場所をお伝えします。
★ルール
・他の人が持ってきた本を批判しないこと
・他の人の本の紹介を遮らないこと
・持ってくる本は小説やフィクションだけであること
★注意事項
・営業・告知・引き抜き・しつこいナンパ・暴言などは禁止です。
・宗教、ビジネス等、種類を問わず各種勧誘行為は禁止です。
・過度なナンパ行為や迷惑行為は禁止です。
・他の参加者のプライバシーを尊重しない行動も禁止です。
上記の行為があった場合、即退場していただいた上に、即通報します。
