Tobu Zoological Park 東武動物公園

Let's take a day trip to 東武動物公園 (Tobu Zoological Park).

There will also be a trip to this event 首都圏外郭放水路見学会 Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel Tour beforehand. Participants for that event can join this one for free. If you are not joining our morning event, please meet us Tobu-Dobutsu-Koen station at 2pm.

The zoo is home to a group of rare white tigers. The younger cubs are showbiz pros having been born into the limelight with a live video streaming back in 2013. However, they are just one of 120 species of animals on display, which also includes lions, penguins and bears. For children, there’s a petting zoo for hands-on play with everything from docile rabbits to exotic lemurs.

Tobu Zoo also has the world’s first firefly theater. Fireflies have become hard to find in urban Japan, even in the summer season, but here you can see the light of 10,000 fireflies at any time. There are also events like bird shows, pony rides and geese marches.

Our main purpose is to spend time slowly visiting the zoological park together, and also make new friends.

There may (or may not) be time to go on the rides. If there is time, then why not! However, please do not expect this.

There are cafes at the park and also outdoor food stands for you to buy take-out food for lunch There are communal picnic tables near the center, but these can get crowded. The FAQs say it is OK to bring food in. https://www.tobuzoo.com/faq/guide/

Admission fees for the Zoo: ¥1,800

Event fee:
¥free if you join our morning event.
¥750 if you pay by 19th September early evening (PayPay, or in cash at an earlier event).
¥1000 in cash on the event day (20th September) - please bring the correct money (see the NOTE below).

If you don't have PayPay, please ask a friend or coworker to do the transaction for you (give them cash!).

Cancellation policy:

• Full refund given if cancellation is notified BY LINE MESSAGE at least 36 hours before the event starttime.
• Reservation and then no-showing without prepayment requires full payment of the event fee via PayPay within 24 hours. Further non-payment will result in removal from the group.

After the event, you may submit a review/evaluation. Please kindly rate appropriately as a low evaluation has an impact on the group. Things you should clearly understand in advance:

1. I (Mark) am not a tour guide. For many events this will also be my first time, and events are mainly organised based on intensive internet research.
2. Nature cannot be guaranteed, so flower festivals may be impacted by the recent climate.
3. We aim to depart on time, however bus schedules might change. This is unavoidable.
4. We request participants arrive EARLY. In rare cases we might wait a few minutes if we do not need to take a bus.
5. The number of participants is not guaranteed. However we will not have large groups.
6. The event finish time might be earlier or later than advertised. The hiking time might be longer/shorter than anticipated. Return bus times are not guaranteed.

How to calculate your review appropriately:
