Back in August 2012 in Silicon Valley (California), I created a meet-up group called 'Gohan Meetup', based on a very simple formula; "meeting people" + "yummy meals" = FUN. 4 years later, the group has become a successful and friendly group where members can expand their network. As I moved back to Tokyo this year (August 2016), I thought to myself why not start a similar group in Tokyo.
In addition to dining out, I will plan to host non-meal events such as attending festivals, sports outing, going to museum, movie nights, and etc. I am still working out on a logistics, so let's see how it goes :) A few heads-ups - What I do not intend this group to be is a bar-hopping/club/party focused group. Though I think these are good ways to meet new people, I am just not personally into it. Also please be advised that I will kick members out for a 'no show' and for harassing members.
Having said that, it will be a fun group to join if you share the same interests. It is my sincere hope that you will expand your network through this group, and enjoy Tokyo as it's one of the most wonderful cities to live!
