Workers' Cafe

Details
(pop in and out anytime during the hour)
This is the second "Worker's Cafe" event, a worker's mutual education club, announced at Tokyo Haskell/FP Meetup. The idea of the Worker's Cafe is to combine traditional skills/crafts meetup (such as Tokyo Haskell meetup) with much broader concern of workplace democracy and worker's mutual education, because they mix well.
At Workers' Cafe, the participants' background and needs are so diverse - everybody is encouraged to get out of the usual comfortable boundaries and reach out to those who temporarily know less. The opposite is also true - everyone is also encouraged to ask anyone any question.
Last time, there were a few people discussing Category Theory. If this is something that interests enough people, maybe we can continue it this time as well?
Below is an explanation of why Haskell Meetup and Workers' Cafe go together well.
Haskell programming language seems popular because it is general and terse, sparing the programmer from writing long and redundant code. However, its effectiveness is diminished without the understanding and appreciation of its ideas by the programmers at large. For example, corporate bosses like Java because they understand it better. What we need is peer-to-peer education to bridge the gap between those who temporarily know more and those who temporarily know less.
What about workplace democracy? That is also essential for the computer programmers to work together well, not only among themselves but also with communities the software serves or should serve.
There is a mailing list for the Worker's Cafe. Please join here as well by using the link below!
