🏔️ Mt. Tekari & Mt. Izaruga-dake Sunrise Hike 🌄
Details
Join us for a challenging overnight adventure in the remote part of the Southern Japanese Alps! We’ll hike to Mt. Tekari-dake, camp in the mountains, and catch the sunrise from Mt. Izaruga-dake the following morning.
🗓️ Plan
🚗 Friday, October 30
• Leave Tokyo at 6:45 PM by 6-seater car.
• Camp somewhere along the way.
🥾 Saturday, October 31
• Drive to Shibasawa Gate parking and start hiking early.
• Hike to Mt. Tekari-dake.
• Camp at the Tekaridake Goya campsite / emergency shelter area.
🌄 Sunday, November 1
• Early morning hike to Mt. Izaruga-dake for sunrise.
• Return to the trailhead and drive back to Tokyo.
📏 Hike Details
• 🥾 Total distance: Approximately 27 km
• ⛰️ Elevation gain: Approximately 2,700 m
• ⛺ Overnight: Mountain camping
• 🚗 Transport: Shared 6-seater car from Tokyo

💪 Who Can Join?
⚠️ Experienced and physically fit hikers only. This is a demanding two-day mountain hike with significant elevation gain, a long distance, and an early sunrise start.
Please bring:
• Proper mountain hiking boots
• Tent, sleeping bag, and sleeping mat
• Warm layers, gloves, and a hat
• Waterproof jacket and trousers
• Headlamp with spare batteries
• Food and sufficient water
• Navigation and emergency essentials
🍂 Important: Late October in the Southern Alps can bring freezing temperatures, snow, and icy trails. Conditions may affect the route and summit plans. The itinerary will be adjusted or cancelled if necessary for safety.
💰 Travel Cost
We will share the travel expenses, including fuel and tolls, equally among participants.
💴 Estimated cost: Around ¥8,000 per person
Final cost may vary depending on the number of participants and actual expenses.
