Whether you are an aspiring poet or a published one, this writing workshop with the editors of the Tokyo Poetry Journal will spark creativity, teach you new creative writing methods and showcase niche poetry genres such as Visual Poetry.
Stay after the workshop to talk freely to editors and other poets about publishing, poetry readings and literary activities.

An internationally-minded poetry group, the Tokyo Poetry Journal (ToPoJo) has been a home for Japanese and Japan-based poets alike for a decade.
They also publish poets who are writing about Japan but are currently based elsewhere. ToPoJo publishes poetry in English, bilingual poetry in English and Japanese, as well as translated works from all over the world. The journal also includes art, reviews, essays etc.

Note: Seating will be decided on a first come first serve basis, but please know that everyone is welcome to stand,observe and listen during the workshop and join the conversation afterwards.
Depending on the number of attendees, we might not have time to analyze everyone's poems written during the workshop.
We still encourage everyone to participate. The workshop will be conducted in English. You need a paper and pen for one of the creative exercises.
