About us
Welcome to our Zoom discussion group, where we delve into Japanese news and current affairs—entirely in English. The group meets twice a month on Saturdays at 9 p.m. Japan time, with each session limited to just five participants to ensure everyone has a meaningful chance to speak. A specific news topic will be chosen for each gathering, and the host may either join the conversation or step back to let the discussion flow among members.
Our group is built on open, respectful dialogue. We actively encourage members to speak their minds and share their opinions freely. To make this work, it is essential that everyone can accept differences in viewpoint and treat fellow members with respect, even—and especially—when disagreements arise. This is a space for honest exchange, not debate for the sake of winning.
If you are interested in exploring Japanese current events through thoughtful, candid conversation, we would love to have you join. There are no language perfection requirements—just a willingness to listen, share, and engage respectfully. Come be part of a small, lively community where diverse perspectives are not only tolerated but welcomed.
