About us

Welcome to the OpenRiak Tokyo User Group!

Next Event: Wednesday 2026-03-04

This community is for engineers, architects, researchers, and anyone interested in distributed systems, high-availability data stores, and the modern evolution of Riak through the OpenRiak project.

We meet every two weeks to share knowledge, explore new features, discuss real-world deployments, and collaborate on the future of OpenRiak as a fault-tolerant, high-availability key-value and BLOB storage engine.

Our meetups are sponsored by KK TI Tokyo, who provide space, pizza, soft drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. Most sessions are held at our SOHO location in Kita-ku, with occasional events at our office in Toranomon, Minato-ku.

Whether you're a long-time Riak user, curious about distributed databases, or looking to deepen your understanding of resilient, scalable data systems, this group is for you.

Come learn, contribute, and connect with others building the future of distributed data in Japan.
